Duval County Sheriff’s Office receives $200k for Operation Stonegarden
Today, I announced $200,000 in federal funds for Duval County law enforcement to help with the necessary funds to support securing our border. This funding comes from Operation Stonegarden, a federal program I helped start that helps local law enforcement protect our border communities.

Operation Shingle completed thanks to area roofing business
The old roof at Alice Memorial Veterans of Foreign War Post 8621, located at 2300 North Texas Boulevard, was recently replaced thanks to a local roofing business. VFW Post 8621 had been in desperate need of a new roof.

On Thursday, Sept. 8, the City of Alice approved a 1.7 million dollar Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) budget. Under Texas law, local HOT funds should be spent on projects or events that result in visitors or attendees staying overnight in the community, generating more hotel occupancy tax and further contributing to the local economy.
