San Diego's Sanchez voted Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week
After combining for 37 points in two games, San Diego girls basketball player Marly Sanchez was voted the Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 30-Dec. 5.
Sanchez posted 23 points against Zapata for the Vaqueros.
Sanchez received 12,904 votes of the 29,709 votes cast, which was 43 percent.
Students can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport.
Skidmore-Tynan girls basketball player Kaydence Menchaca was second with 12,808 votes received.
Nominations are due each Monday by 5 p.m. and can be submitted through email at firstname.lastname@example.org, by messaging the Caller-Times through its Facebook page, or on Twitter @CallerSports. Please include statistics from the week's games and any pertinent information or honors.
Voting runs Tuesday through Thursday each week.
