Rockin' K Farm's corn maze is back! Here's what to know

One of South Texas' favorite family fall traditions is back, bringing picturesque pumpkin patches, a corn maze, cute farm animals and games throughout October.

Rockin' K Farms, located about 30 miles outside of Corpus Christi, has offered fall festivities since 2014. The farm kicked off the season on Sept. 25 and will remain open every Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 31.

Visitors attempt to navigate their way through the corn mazes at Rockin' K Farms in Robstown on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019.

The farm is celebrating with fireworks shows on Saturday, Oct. 9 and Oct. 23 at 8:15 p.m. The ticket booth will close at 8 p.m. and the farm will close at 9 p.m..

This year's corn maze design features a scarecrow with pumpkins, corn and a truck that says "Rockin' K."

Though called a "corn maze," the maze is actually made with hay grazer. Hay grazer needs less water to grow and is bug resistant, making it a sustainable agricultural practice, the Rockin' K Website says.

The process behind Rockin' K Farm's maze is a secret, but the farm says it's designed on a computer and then transferred into the maze acreage. The field is planted in July and the design is made while the crop is still short.

Don't worry about getting lost — visitors can use a "passport" to answer ten questions to help navigate the maze. There's also "corn cops" and emergency exits available throughout the maze.

Rockin' K Farms also has a sunflower field, a pumpkin barn and house, and other fall themed games and activities.

The farm now offers Super Passes, which include 2 tokens for 25 shots for paintball and 5 apples for the apple blaster in addition to general admission.

Outside food and alcohol are not permitted and smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property. Only service animals are permitted.
