BRRRRR! Here's when South Texas can expect warmer weather
The Corpus Christi area will experience more freezing temperatures before it warms up.
Near or slightly below freezing temperatures are expected Monday night. A light freeze is also possible Tuesday night, the National Weather Service Corpus Christi said in an advisory.
Near freezing temperatures are also possible Wednesday morning.
A northerly breeze with wind chills will keep temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s. A freeze warning may be in effect in some areas, mainly inland, the weather service said.
Freezing conditions can kill sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Pets should also be brought indoors during freezing temperatures, according to the ASPCA. Pets can become disoriented and freeze.
A warming trend is expected for the rest of the week with temperatures forecast to be in the lower 70s.
