OG man dies in single vehicle accident

ORANGE GROVE - Forty-year old Ovidio Matias Mesa Jr.died in a single vehicle accident Tuesday, according to Sgt. Nathan Brandley with the Department of Public safety.
Law enforcement and other first responders were dispatched around 5:27 p.m. to Farm-to-Market 624 off County Road 308 for a single vehicle accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Mesa, the driver of a Chevy pickup truck, was traveling east on FM 624.
According to Sgt. Brandley, Mesa failed to drive in his lane of travel and veered off the roadway across oncoming traffic, overcorrected and overturned multiple times before coming to rest on its top north of FM 624.
DPS Troopers are further investigating the fatal crash.
