One arrested, one hospitalized after fatal shooting on Corpus Christi's Westside
A 36-year-old man is dead after an argument between acquaintances on Corpus Christi's Westside escalated to a shooting early Saturday morning.
At 2:24 a.m., Corpus Christi police were called to the 3100 block of Magnolia Street for a shooting, a news release said Tuesday. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in the driveway with life-threatening injuries. Officers attempted to provide life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.
Two men were believed to have been involved in the shooting. They were also injured and fled the scene in a vehicle to a local hospital.
A 24-year-old man was left at the hospital for treatment. He was in stable condition, the release said.
Raul Salazar, 35, was arrested at Cole Park. He is charged with murder. His bond is set at $1 million.
Police say there are no outstanding suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the police department at 361-886-2840.
