AISD addresses Fall Semester with first three weeks as virtual instruction

The Alice Independent School District (AISD), decided on Monday evening to start the Fall Semester as fully remote virtual instruction for students the first three weeks, in response to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the area and student safety.

The first day of class is scheduled to start on August 12, if any additional delays arise, parents will be notified after the academic calendar is reviewed by the Board of Trustees meeting on July 30.

A town hall meeting for parents is scheduled for Monday, July 20 at 6 p.m. on the web during a scheduled virtual zoom meeting, instructions to attend meeting is located on the AISD website.

An additional town hall meeting for parents and staff will be held Wednesday, July 22 on the same zoom meeting platform starting at 6 p.m.

A second survey is being distributed to parents on July 17 to voice their concern and choice on in-class instruction or remote virtual online instruction, medical concerns and needed supplies for remote learning. AISD is asking parents to please complete and submit their surveys by July 31.
