City of Alice and Jim Wells County officials want to remind everyone about the travel advisories to COVID-19 hotspots such as San Antonio, Houston, Galveston and Dallas.

An emergency alert was sent to San Antonio residents on Saturday evening that stated “The COVID-19 virus is spreading rapidly across Bexas County. Local hospitals are approaching capacity. Protect yourself and your family. Stay home except for essential activities, wear a face covering and avoid gathering with people outside your household. Stay safe.”

Dr. Erik Nisimblat, MD, has continued to urge precautions to hot spots as the numbers continue to rise.

On Friday, county officials mandated facial coverings in public businesses to help slow the spread of COVID-19. They urge everyone to follow CDC guidelines such as social distancing and washing hands.
