Bi-National collaboration leads to more migrant rescues

EDINBURG – U.S. Border Patrol worked with the Government of Mexico (GoM) to rescue 15 migrants.

Early Wednesday morning, McAllen agents working near Los Ebanos, Texas, spotted a group of people staged near the Mexican riverbank. Agents contacted the RGV Sector Foreign Operations Branch who coordinated with the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) officials to respond to the area. INM located and rescued the 15 subjects who intended to enter the U.S. but were abandoned by their smuggler.

Bi-national efforts between the United States Border Patrol and the GoM have led to the rescue of more than 500 people this fiscal year.
