has announced the 2007 Academic All-Americans. With more than 100 nominees from across the country, nominations were taken from a list sent in by high school and club coaches as well as directors.

In order for athletes to be considered for recognition, girls had to be seniors who excelled in both volleyball and academics.

Five teams of eight were selected. The teams consisted of five hitters, two setters, and a defensive player.

After a successful season, the state-ranked Calallen Lady Wildcat team had two of its own make the list.

Courtney Oertli was selected to Team No. 4. She finished the 2007 season with 326 kills, 301 digs and 625 assists.

Oertli is ranked fifth in her senior class and will attend Villanova University this fall.

Her teammate, Kelsey Schwirtlich, was named honorable mention. She finished her season with 368 kills, 221 digs and 536 assists.

Schwirtlich is ranked seventh in her senior class and will attend the University of Texas-San Antonio this fall.
