Stephenville - Will Alexander had a career day, picking up four hits and eight runs batted in as Texas A&M-Kingsville pounded out 20 hits for the second time in the series in beating Tarleton State 18-11 and taking the Lone Star Conference series 3-1.

The Javelinas are now 23-19 overall and 18-14 in the Lone Star Conference, alone in sixth place in the LSC. The Hogs are four games ahead of seventh place Tarleton State and a half game behind fifth place Central Oklahoma. Six teams advance to the LSC Postseason Tournament in May. Every batter in the Hog lineup had at least one hit as the Javelinas scored in double-digits for the third time in the series.

Ironically Alexander was inserted into the lineup because one of the team's leading hitters and run producers, Owen Weaver, missed the game due to illness.

Alexander responded by delivering a three-run double in the first, a run scoring single in the fourth and two-run doubles in both the fifth and sixth innings.

Chase Myrick, Wiley Crowson and Erik Gomez all had three hits apiece for the Javelinas.

Sam Strickland pitched into the fifth inning to earn his second victory of the series and improve to 7-3 on the season while Ricky Erwin finished out the game to earn his second save of the season.
