ROBSTOWN — The Agua Dulce Longhorns had a lot to deal with Tuesday afternoon.

First of all, it was cold — bitterly and unusually cold. With a steady north wind blowing, the feel-like temperature at Fairgrounds Field in Robstown was in the 40s at game time. Then there were the Refugio Bobcats, who seemed more than worthy of their No. 3 state ranking in Class 3A.

Led by TCU-commit Jared Kelley, the Bobcats made quick work of the Longhorns in the district match-up and won 16-0 in five innings. Kelley went four innings on the mound. He struck out 12 while not allowing a hit or giving up a walk.

Agua Dulce’s own Division I college commit, Randal Garza, started on the mound. He lasted two and a half innings. Garza was relieved in the middle of the Bobcats’ 12-run third inning. He was relieved by Joaquin Leija.
