The Alice Lady Coyotes began district play with a victory thanks in part to a “hat trick.”

Alice High School senior Haley Kress pulled off the “hat trick” which she found the back of the goal three times in a 5-1 victory against Tuloso-Midway in Memorial Stadium Tuesday night.

The Lady Coyotes are playing here again Friday night against Flour Bluff. They are on the road Tuesday against Laredo Cigarroa.

Alice 3, Tuloso-Midway 3

The Alice Coyotes were down by two goals against Tuloso-Midway after just the first five minutes of the game Tuesday night.

The Coyotes managed to battle back and tie the game, 3-3. Alice trailed 2-0, but then scored three-straight goals to take a one-goal lead. Tuloso-Midway tied the game in the 79th minute.

Altair Ceja scored for Alice eight minutes into the game. Jacob Lopez scored in the 14 and 20-minute mark. Deja and Ivan Elias were credited with assists.

Ismael Cantu had six saves.

The Coyotes are on the road against Flour Bluff Friday night and they’re here Tuesday against Laredo Cigarroa.
