The Alice Lady Coyotes matched the Flour Bluff Lady Hornets Friday night — for a quarter anyway.

Through the first seven minutes of the game, the Lady Coyotes kept the Lady Hornets at bay. They managed to get through Flour Bluff press and were able to handle the Lady Hornets’ height advantage.

Eventually, though, the Lady Hornets took advantage of several Lady Coyote turnovers, and when they had an opportunity, they capitalized for a 61-51 victory.

Flour Bluff turned what was a two-point lead into a 37-25 advantage by halftime. The Lady Coyotes picked up the pace in the second half, but the Lady Hornets maintained their lead.

Nine different players scored for Flour Bluff. Hayle Campbell scored 14 and Maegan Bazan scored 13. Gloria Geurin scored 10.
