The Alice Lady Coyotes finished the Border Bash tournament in McAllen in third place in the Platinum Bracket Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Coyotes won four games over two days to reach the championship at the tournament Thursday and Friday.

Alice began the tournament with a 45-38 win against La Joya and a 67-41 win against Valley View in pool play Thursday. The Lady Coyotes returned to the court Friday for the bracket end of the tournament. They defeated Brownsville Hanna, 47-41, and Rio Grande City, 50-44.

Aside from the tournament, Alice High School senior Jakki Barrera qualified to the finals of the tournament's three-point contest. Barrera placed in the top 20 in a field of more than 100 girls. She finished the contest in the top 10.

The Alice girls are on the road Monday against Corpus Christi Moody. They play Veterans Memorial at Alice High School Tuesday.
