The Alice Lady Coyotes won four games over two days to reach the championship at the McAllen High School Border Bash tournament.
The Alice girls have two games Saturday at McAllen High School to decide the tournament championship.
Alice began the tournament with a 45-38 win against La Joya and a 67-41 win against Valley View in pool play Thursday. The Lady Coyotes returned to the court Friday for the bracket end of the tournament. They defeated Brownsville Hanna, 47-41, and Rio Grande City, 50-44.
Aside from the tournament, Alice High School senior Jakki Barrera qualified to the finals of the tournament's three-point contest. Barrera placed in the top 20 in a field of more than 100 girls. She finished the contest in the top 10.
