Kingsville, Texas - The Javelina women's volleyball team kicked-off their 2018 practice schedule by hitting the court on Tuesday morning in Kingsville.

"Our first practice was very intense," said coach Tanya Allen. "We focused on a lot of small details and the team responded with a very eager and positive attitude."

The first chance for TAMUK fans to see squad in action will come on August 19th, when the Steinke Physical Education Center will host the program's alumni game at 3 p.m.

The Javelinas' season opener is set for August 24th, day one of the Kathleen Brasfield Tournament in San Angelo, Texas. TAMUK will open the event with a pair of matches on day one, starting with a tilt against New Mexico Highlands University at 10 a.m.

Following a home exhibition with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on the 28th and a tournament in Florida from Aug. 31st - Sept. 1st, the first home contest that will count in the standings for the Javs will be on Sept. 7th versus Western New Mexico at 4 p.m.
