As part of the 11 baseball team, two-zone set up in District 30-5A, each team ends the regular with a crossover game.

Now, some teams are playing in more meaningful crossover games than others. Some teams are playing for the district championship and others are playing for playoff sports. Still, others are playing simply for pride.

Alice is one of those programs playing for pride and shot at closing out the 2018 season with a win.

Alice is playing Corpus Christi Moody at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cabaniss Field.

By finishing on top of the 30-5A North Zone standings, the Calallen Wildcats earned a shot at South Zone frontrunner Corpus Christi King.

The two programs are going head-to-head in a best-of-three series to decide the district champion. Game 1 is at 8 p.m. Thursday at Cabaniss. Game 2 is at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Calallen. If needed, Game 3 is in Calallen.

Both teams are guaranteed playoff bids.

Tuloso-Midway, who Calallen took down last week, is facing Carroll is a three-game series for a spot in the postseason. Game 1 is at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Cabaniss Field.
