SAN DIEGO — Underneath her purple and pink lifting suit Friday, San Diego High School’s Bailey Pastrano wore a blue t-shirt which read “Losers Complain. Winners train.”

Apparently, Pastrano knows something about training. Pastrano won the 123-pound weight class at the San Diego Brush Country Classic Friday with a 795-pound weight total.

Coming into the meet, Pastrano had back-to-back second-place finishes at the Bishop Ladies Tri-Meet and the Carrizo Spring Invitational, but she broke through the won her weight class Friday. She was given the meet’s award for Most Outstanding Lifter.

The San Diego girls also picked up first-place points from Eliana Carrillo in the 165-pound weight class, Alexis Gallegos in the 181-pound weight class and Kimberly Rivera in the 259-pound weight class to help San Diego win the meet.
