Flour Bluff’s Jaeger Bull is a mountain of a young man. At 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, the Flour Bluff senior, already committed to play football for Rice University in the fall, stood head and shoulders above all of Alice’s line-up Friday night.

That’s the kind of size advantage the Hornets had over the Coyotes in their District 30-5A crossover game Friday night at Alice High School. Flour Bluff used that edge to beat Alice, 65-56.

Bull finished the game with 15 points, including five in the Hornets first-period rush. However, it was Ty Burns who paced Flour Bluff with 26 points. Burns scored the bulk of his points in a string of five three-pointers in the third period.

The Hornets jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the first.

Ben Ynfante had 17 points, including a three-pointer in each period. D’Andre Evens also had 17, including eight points off free throws. John Leija had nine points.
