South Texas is being well-represented in the regional volleyball tournaments the weekend.
From Class 5A to 2A, a total of five teams from the Coastal Bend are competing in Region IV volleyball tournaments and the opportunity to reach the state tournament.
Among the teams still playing are Class 4A Orange Grove and Class 2A Freer.
The Orange Grove Lady Bulldogs are playing La Vernia at 6 p.m. Friday in the Class 4A tournament at Blossom Athletic Center in San Antonio. Devine and Navarro are on the other side of the tournament.
Freer is going up against Shiner at 5 p.m. Friday in the Class 2A tournament at Brenham High School. On the other side of the tournament are Woodsboro and Weimer.
Also playing in the regional tournaments are Calallen and Tuloso-Midway. The two District 30-5A foes are playing in the 5A tournament at the Dugan Wellness Center on the Campus of Texas A&M University of Corpus Christi. Calallen is facing Sequin at 4 p.m. Friday and Tuloso-Midway is taking on Alamo Heights at 6 p.m.
