BEN BOLT — The score might not reflect it, but the Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco Lady Badgers had a much better outing against Rivera this time around.

In their first match-up against District 32-2A frontrunner Riviera, the Lady Badgers were shutout and held hitless.

On Tuesday, Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco suffered another defeat to the Lady Seahawks, but scattered throughout the 21-6 loss were a bunch of hits and a couple of solid defensive innings.

The Lady Seahawks built an early lead when they rallied off Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco starting pitcher Macy Carrillo for nine runs in the first inning. Carrillo ended up taking the loss.

Offensively, juniors Bryanna Ramirez and Stephani Hernandez finished the game with a double and a single each. Senior Peyton Gafford had two singles.

Despite the loss, the Lady Badgers still control their playoff fate. They are currently sitting in third place in 32-2A and they have a match-up against second-place Benavides on the road Friday.

Riviera improved to 12-2 for season and 8-0 in district.

San Diego 10, Banquete 3

Zalayna Perez and Rianna Lopez each went 3-for-4 to help the San Diego Lady Vaqueros remain unbeaten in district.

San Diego totaled 11 hits in the 10-3 road victory against Banquete Tuesday night.

Lopez also totaled three RBIs.

Defensively, pitchers Marley Martinez and Kayla Oliveira combined to limit the Lady Bulldogs to just four hits. Martinez started the game and earned the win. She went four innings, giving up three hits. She strikeout five and walked four. Oliveira threw for three innings. She gave up one hit and fanned six batters.
