A year after delays in the construction of Memorial Stadium’s new track forced Alice to move its annual track and field meet to San Diego, the Hub City Relays are back at home Saturday.

The annual running of the Alice Hub City Relays is Saturday. The varsity and junior varsity meet begins at 9 a.m.

The meet includes seven varsity programs and 10 junior varsity teams.

Alice, which has one meet under its belt this season, should be well-represented in the both the girls and boys divisions.

The Lady Coyotes should have a strong showing in the 200-meter run. A week ago in the Ingleside meet, senior Ariana Gomez took first in the event, followed by Gabriela Saldivar in second and Jakki Barrera in third. Sophomore Criselda Cruz was second in the triple jump at the Ingleside meet.

The Alice boys are more of a work in progress, according to coach Stephen Silva. The team is led by junior Eliseo Martinez, who was an area qualifier in the 800-meter run a year ago. Senior Jonavan Lopez reached regionals in the high school in 2015.

The following is a list of teams participating in the meet Saturday.
