Alicia R. Lopez

Benavides - Alicia R. "Licha" Lopez, 86 years of age, has gained her angel wings on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at her residence after a short illness. She was born in San Diego, Texas on August 16, 1935 to her parents, Julio and Rufina (Cantu) Rangel. Alicia was an active member of Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and a member of the Alter and Rosary Society. She dedicated her life to her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking and making Pan de Polvo and also enjoyed music and singing, dancing and especially gardening and received yard of the year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro L. Lopez; her daughters, Yolanda Lopez and Rufina Rangel; her parents, Julio and Rufina (Cantu) Rangel; her brother, Adolfo Rangel; sisters, Belia de la Rosa and Emma Barrera.

Alicia is survived by her four sons, Roel (Irma) Lopez of Ramirez, Texas; Rolando (Rosanna) Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; Roberto Rene (Becky) Lopez of Orange Grove, Texas; Ruben Amador (Ashley) Lopez of Los Angeles, California; one daughter, Sylvia Ann (Oscar) Everett of Benavides, Texas; one sister, Edna Ruiz of La Rosita, Texas; sister-in-law, Lydia Rangel; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we will be following all CDC and Government mandates and ask each guest to do so as well. We ask everyone to follow social distancing and wear masks inside the funeral home and church.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas. Interment will follow at Lopez Cemetery in San Jose Community, Texas.
