Alice, TX - Nicholas Alan Brandt Ortiz entered eternal rest July 24, 2021, at the age of 23. He was born October 17, 1997, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Oscar Ortiz Jr. and Kristin Mechell. Nicholas worked in the oilfield as a supervisor for FESCO. Nicholas had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working at the ranch, and working on his truck. Nicholas will be forever remembered for his love of being around his family and being around his children. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Alan Landeche; maternal great-grandparents, Cecil and Gwen Brandt, Paul and Joyce Okerman; paternal grandparents, Zaragosa and Juanita Zamora; paternal great grandparents, Manuel and Dominga L. Ortiz.

Nicholas leaves behind to cherish his memory, his fiancé, Bridget Rivera of Alice; daughters, Briella Cantu, Hensley Brandt, Brinley Brandt, and Hadley Brandt; parents, Oscar Ortiz Jr. (Cindy) of Alice and Kristin Mechell (Tony) of Bishop; brothers, Matthew Ortiz of Alice, Joe Garcia (Christina) of Alice, Tony Jayden Mechell of Bishop, and Mason Richard Mechell of Bishop; paternal grandparents, Mike and Olga Cervantes of Alice, Oscar Ortiz Sr. of Agua Dulce; maternal grandparents, Willie and Julie Brandt of Aransas Pass; maternal great-grandparents, Jack and Jeannette Grigsby of Metairie, LA, Alan and Rosie Landeche of Metairie, LA; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 30, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home in Alice with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Country Tabernacle Church in Bluntzer, 5818 FM 666. Burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Alice.

Pallbearers will be Tony Mechell, Christian Delgado, A.D. Peña, Gavin Escoto, Matthew Ortiz, and Rowdy Muñoz. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Benavides, T.J. Mechell, Oscar Ortiz, and Joe Garcia.

Services will be livestreamed via Rosas Funeral Home Facebook page beginning Friday, July 30, 2021, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11 a.m. Please like the page and you will be notified once services begin.
