Three Rivers, Texas – Annie Ruth Mayfield Coleman, 92, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 in a Three Rivers nursing home following an extended illness. Annie was born to Fred and Beulah (Barrow) Mayfield in Austin, Texas, on August 2, 1916. Annie was a long-time Children’s Minsiter at the First Assembly of God Church in Freer, Texas, as well as a dietician at the old Freer hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Levi Coleman; mother, Beulah Barrow Mayfield; father, Fred Anderson Mayfield; and sisters, Avis Mayfield Maxwell and Lorene Mayfield Upton Brieden.
Survivors include a sister, Naomi Elizabeth Rankin of Kingsville; three sons, Everett Ray (Joyce) Coleman of Kenedy, Thomas Leroy Coleman of Three Rivers and Harley (Frances) Coleman of Pleasanton; daughter, Earlene (Sam) Armstrong of Three Rivers, granddaughter, Dena Kaye of Pleasanton; grandsons, Eric Thomas Coleman of San Francisco, Calif., John Alan of Burleson and Tommy Douglas of Palmer; three great-grandsons and eight great-granddaughters.
Visitation will begin Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Three Rivers, with a Funeral scheduled to start that same day at 2 p.m.
Graveside Funeral services will follow in the Hahl Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008 in Freer.
