ORANGE GROVE, Texas - Amable Contreras Garza, 68, died Sunday, August 19, 2007 in Corpus Christi, Texas, after an illness. Born in Three Rivers, Texas, she was a rural resident of Orange Grove, Texas, and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel Contreras and Zulema Guajardo; and her husband, Martin Garza Jr.
Survivors include her children, Juan Jose Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas, Librado (Suzanne) Garza, Martin III (Mari) Garza and Yolanda (Fred) Acuna, all of Orange Grove, Texas, Josie (Sam) Juarez and Lisa Garza of Alice, Texas, and Amable Garza of Orange Grove, Texas; brothers, Juan (Maria) Cortez of Corpus Cbristi, Texas, and Urbano (Diana) Guajardo of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Alicia (David) Bocanegra of San Antonio, Texas; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Michael Garza, Martin Garza IV, Mathew Garza, Zachary Nathan Garza, Amador Garza Jr. and Juan Cortez, Jr.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Walker-Mora Chapel in Alice, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2007 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas with burial following at Dillworth/Coyote Cemetery in Jim Wells County, Texas.

ALICE, Texas - Ella M. Martinez, 89, passed away August 20, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born in Alice, Texas, to Willie and Margarita Chapa Mandel. She was a housewife, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice.
Mrs. Martinez was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Salazar Martinez; one daughter, Dalia Margarita Martinez; one son, Abraham Martinez, one brother, Charles Mandel Sr.; and one sister, Lilly Mandel Cantu.
Survivors include her son, Sam A. (Mary Jane) Mandel of Corpus Christi; three brothers, Alfred (Consuelo) Mandel Sr., Albert (Eva) Mandel Sr., and Willie (Eva) Mandel all of Alice; three grandchildren, Samuel Edward (Clarissa) Mandel of Alpine, Jennifer R. (James) Buratti of San Marcos and Jeanette R. Mandel of Corpus Christi; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday August 22, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice.
Burial will follow in Old Collins Cemetery.

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Francisco "Pancho" Trigo, Jr., 73, a lifelong resident of San Diego, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007 after a sudden illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oralia M. Trigo; his parents, Francisco and Gertrudis Trigo; his son, Luis F. Trigo Sr.; and his daughter, Graciela (Gracie) Trigo.
Survivors include his sons, Orlando "Lando" (Lydia Rodriguez) Trigo, Daniel "Danny" (Yaya) Trigo and Ruben Trigo, all of San Diego, Texas; his daughters, Diana (Salome) Espinoza and Melissa (Ray) Hernandez, both of San Diego, Texas; his brother, Leonardo "Nano" (Linda) Trigo of Freer, Texas; his sisters, Amalia (Oscar Longoria) Trejo of San Diego, Benita (Cano) Martinez of La Rosita, Alicia Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Juanita T. (Bolle) Saenz of San Diego, Rosario (Juan) Garcia of Alice and Estella Montemayor; 21 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas. Vigil for the Deceased will be observed, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
