GREENSBURG, Kan. - Leila "Lee" Dawson, 66 of Greensburg, Kan., passed away Friday, August 10, 2007 in Cummings, Ga. She was born October 27, 1940, in Dodge City, Kan., the daughter of Guy Herbert and Helen May Dawson Clay. She owned and operated the Daylight Donut Shop in Greensburg for several years and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Greensburg. She was also an active supporter of South Central Youth for Christ. Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Bruce (Lucy) Rose of Alice, Texas; two daughters, LaQuitta (Joe) of Cummings, Ga., and Debra Nobe of Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy (Judy) Dawson of Lamar, Colo., Steven (Connie) Dawson of Greensburg, Isom (Deborah Faye) Dawson of Columbiana, Ala.; one sister, Jackie (Jim) Scheuerman of Greensburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 10 am. in Davis Park, Greensburg, Kan. Burial will follow at Ford Cemetery in Ford, Kansas.

ALICE, Texas - James Glynn Evans Sr., 63, passed away August 10, 2007 in an Alice hospital. He was born December 9, 1943 in Pasadena, Texas, to Seth and Gladys Evans. He was a top honored Eagle Scout and a longtime employee of Fesco Engineering. He was a United States Navy veteran, and he was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Edgar Evans.

Survivors include his daughter, Heather B. (Johnny) Valentine of Corpus Christi; two sons, James Glynn (Merideth) Evans Jr. of San Antonio and Paul Seth Evans of Alice; and five grandchildren,

Visitation will be Monday, August 13, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday August 14, 2007 at the Alice Cemetery

ALICE, Texas - Homero M. Garcia, 75, passed away August 11, 2007 after a long illness. He was born in Ben Bolt, Texas, on August 21, 1931 to Zaragosa and Concepcion Garcia. Right after graduating from St. Edward's University he became a History Teacher at Hebbronville High School and also coached football and baseball. He then moved to Alice and became a banker at Alice National Bank where he later became vice president. He then retired to enjoy raising cattle and horses at his ranch in Springfield, Texas. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to be at the ranch. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by two brothers, Zaragosa Garcia Jr. and Dr. Jose A. Garcia.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Enriqueta C. Garcia of Alice, Texas; two sons, David (Livia) Garcia and Victor (Pamela) Garcia, both of Alice, Texas; one sister, Berta (Dr. Lauro) Guerra of McAllen, Texas; one brother, Felipe Garcia of Helotes, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Aurora Garcia and Rosaura Garcia, both of Alice, Texas; and four grandchildren, Jon-Eric, Andrew, Lauren and Aiden Garcia.

Pallbearers will be J.C. Perez III, Joe Dan Hancock, Jose Amador Garcia III, Jose Lucas Guerra, Michael Guerra, Rey Guerra, Andrew Garcia and Antonio "Tony" Garcia.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of Alice with a Rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and burial will follow at the Calaveras Cemetery in Ben Bolt, Texas.

ALICE, Texas - Alejandra C. Villarreal, 81, passed away August 10, 2007 at her residence in Alice.

She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Dulce Cavazos; two sisters, Pola Perez and C. Cavazos and one brother, Albeso Cavazos.

Survivors include one son, Joe Villarreal of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Reyes (Samuel) Rodriguez and Maria Luisa Vasquez, both of Alice, Texas; one sister: Dora (Edwardo) Govea of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation began at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in Alice with a Rosary that evening at 7 p.m.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and burial followed at the New Collins Cemetery.
