ALICE, Texas - Jack Edward Hilger, 68, passed away January 27, 2007 at the Texas Transplant Institute in San Antonio, Texas, where he received a heart transplant on May 11, 2002. The family wishes to thank the Donor's family.
Through their kindness, he had an additional four and one-half years to spend with our family. Jack was born on October 7, 1938 in Houston, Texas.
At the age of two days, he was placed in his adoptive mother's arms and became the son of Opal and Henry Hilger. Jack attended public school in Alice, Texas, and graduated from William Adams High School in 1957. Fifty years later, he still had contact with many of his classmates.
He went on and graduated from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. He retired with Crawford and Co. Insurance Adjusters in 1999.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Henry Hilger; brother, Robert Hilger; and mother- and father-in-law, Maye and Leon Dyer.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Lynn Hilger of Alice, Texas; son, Scott Hilger; grandchildren, Devyn, Haley and Corey Jack Hilger, all of Schertz, Texas; brother and sister-in-laws Joyce and Fred Frank and Anthony and Pam Taylor of Alice; sister-in-law Barbara Hilger Irwin and her husband, Joe Irwin of Alice; cousins, John Beall, Amil and Chuck Hilger of Louisiana; nieces and nephews, Cheryl (James) Griggs, Nancy Arnold, Fred (Jo Ann) Frank, Rodney (Shelly) Robison, Dale and Kent Hilger; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the ICU units; CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice and the Texas Transplant Institute of San Antonio, Texas. Also his special friends, Donna Kay Powell, Carolyn Waters Reed, Tom Austin, Bill Bullock, Hoyt Chapman, Charles and Mary Dean Massey, and Joe Frank and Hortencia Morin for the many emails and phone calls that meant so much to Jack these last few years.
The family also extends special thanks to Jack's church family.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007 at Roberson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at West Main Baptist Church in Alice, with interment following at Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Taylor, Fred Frank Jr., Bill Shelton, James Griggs, Travis Griggs and Ross Griggs.

ALICE, Texas - Lenor F. Morgan, 78, passed away January 27, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was a homemaker. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Josefa Flores; and her husband, Lee Morgan Sr.
Survivors include three sons, Lee (Yolanda) Morgan Jr., Edward (Yolanda) Morgan and Leeroy Morgan, all of Alice, Texas; four daughters, Edna (Jerry) Kennemer of Collinsville, Texas, Hattie (Johnnie) Villegas of San Antonio, Texas, Nora ( Tony) Varelaof Fort Greely, Alaska, and Priscilla (Fred) Curtis of Alice, Texas; one brother, Abel (Frances) Flores of Tapica, Kan.; one sister, Zoila Rivas of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
