Jacqulene Spurlock Hefte of Robstown passed away on April 1, 2011. She was born on Sept. 10, 1929 in San Saba to Jack and Jessie Spurlock. Jacque graduated from Texas Tech University in 1952 with a B.S. in education. She and Bennett moved to Robstown following graduation and resided there the remainder of their lives. She was active in community Cancer Association fundraising and was a member and past president of the Robstown Garden Club. She and Bennett owned and raced thoroughbred horses for 35 years and were members of the New Mexico Horseman's Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jessie Spurlock; her husband, Bennett Hefte; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Spurlock.

She is survived by her brother, Bill Spurlock of San Antonio; nieces, Deborah (Lewis) Radicke, Kathryn (Mark) Yahn, Marsha Spurlock, Brenda (Bob) Sandefur, Katheryn (Scott) Perry; and nephews, Stephen Spurlock, Gary (Linda) Garrett, David (Cynthia) Garrett and Kenneth Tom (Lauri) Hefte.

Graveside funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Robstown Memorial Park. Interment followed.
