ALICE, Texas - Jose Indalecio Cruz, 87, died Monday, May 14, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital after an illness. A lifelong resident of Alice, Texas, he was a landscaper and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reyes and Martina Hernandez Cruz.

Survivors include his wife, Manuela Rodriguez Cruz of Alice, Texas; two sons, Jose I. Cruz of Globe, Ariz., and Ernesto Cruz of Alice, Texas; three daughters, Emilia (Roberto) Garza, Diana (Pedro) Cardona and Grace Aguilar all of Alice, Texas; and several grandchildren.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2007 at Walker-Mora Funeral Home in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice with military burial conducted by the United Veterans Burial Association of Alice at New Collins Cemetery in Alice.

ALICE, Texas - David R. Garza, 43, passed away May 16, 2007 in an Alice nursing home. He was born February 19, 1964 in Alice, Texas, to Alonzo Sr. and Lydia Garza. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sister, Frances G. (Jesse) Quinones of Kingsville, Texas; two brothers, Jose Arturo (Minnie) Vela and Alonzo (Andrea) Garza Jr., both of Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 1 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to assist with final expenses.

ALICE, Texas - Olivia Segura Toeross, 82, of Alice, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2007. She was born in Benavides, Texas, on November 4, 1925 to Placido Segura and Maria Salazar Segura Chapa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank Toeross in 2000; her sister, Oralia Segura; and her brothers, Rodolfo and Placido Segura and Tommy Chapa. Survivors include her sisters, Emma Viera and Olga Rivera both of Benavides, Texas; her stepdaughters, Gerry Toeross Wehage of San Leandro, Calif. and Wynona Ramanich of Los Alamos, Calif.; and many cousins, numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas. Vigil for the Deceased will be observed, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2007 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas. Burial will follow at the Benavides Cemetery in Benavides, Texas.
