ALICE, Texas - Alfred A. Buethe passed away in an Alice, Texas, hospital on August 28, 2007. He was a long time resident of Jim Wells County. He came to Alice to work in the oilfield 50 years ago.

He then became a painter until his retirement. He married Hazel Boggus Daniel in 1943; they were married for 53 years, then they divorced in 2003. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Buethe; his mother, Margaret Buethe; and brother, Bud Buethe.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Lacy of Shoshoni, Wyo., and Rose Huntsinger of Mathis, Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the West Main Baptist Church with Brother Ross Dudney officiating. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. that afternnon at the Westhoff Cemetery in Westhoff, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the West Main Baptist Church in Al Buethe's memory.

HENDERSON, Texas - Joseph Harris, 47, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007. He was born February 28, 1960 in Charlottesville, Va.

He grew up in Alice and was currently living in Henderson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Niehaus Harris; his daughter, Amy Harris; and sister, Wendy Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Lesley; four daughters, Sonni and Jessi of Henderson, Cady Harris of Alice and Jessica Harris of Beaumont; two sons, Jason Harris of Agua Dulce and Nick Harris of Beaumont; his father, Joe Harris of Alice; three sisters, Vickie Warnke of Corpus Christi, Penny Thurman of Agua Dulce and Melanie Mitchell of Lander, Wyoming; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service was held August 26, 2007 in Henderson under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
