SAN DIEGO, Texas - Alejandro S. "Alex" Montemayor Jr., 69, joined our Lord in Heaven on Saturday, May 12, 2007. He resided in San Diego, Texas, and retired from San Diego High School after 32 years of service. He received his undergraduate degree from St. Mary's University and graduate degree from Texas A&I University. He was active in various civic organizations including the Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts of America, 4-H Club, San Diego Little League, Mutualistas and Beefmasters Breeders United.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alejandro Montemayor Sr.; and a brother, Amando Montemayor.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Irma C. Montemayor of San Diego, Texas; two sons, Donnie (Thelma) Montemayor of Refugio, Texas, and Adrian Guadalupe (Melisa) Montemayor of Laredo, Texas; a daughter, Elaine M. (Alejandro) Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother, Julia S. Montemayor of San Diego, Texas; one brother, Adolfo S. (Maria Antonia) Montemayor of Alice, Texas; one sister, Lucinda M. (Antonio) Flores of Brownsville, Texas; a sister-in-law, Thelma E. Montemayor of Alice, Texas; a special cousin, Albesa Montemayor of San Diego, Texas; four grandchildren, Megan, Alexa, Ari, and Joseph Montemayor; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2007 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Interment followed at the Lopez Cemetery in San Jose Community.

SAN DIEGO, Texas - Ninfa Galvan Perez, 79, passed away May 7, 2007 in a San Diego nursing home after a short illness. Ninfa was married at the time that Adolfo served during WWII in the U.S. Army. They traveled extensively to Germany and to other parts of the United States and she was also a housewife. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arturo and Elodia Galvan; her husband, Adolfo C. Perez; a son, Roberto "Bobby" Perez; four brothers, Rogelio, Arturo Jr., Arnoldo and Reymundo Galvan; and one sister, Noela Galvan.

She is survived by her two sons, Adolfo Rolando (Belinda) Perez and Raynaldo "Ronnie" G. (Dalia) Perez, both of San Diego, Texas; one brother: Noe (Sara) Galvan of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Ernestina (Luis) Gonzalez of San Diego, Texas, and Teresa (Roberto) Sandoval of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren, Brianna Perez, Raynaldo Perez Jr., Ceasar Rene Perez, Felipe Adolfo Perez, Bettina Perez, and Gabriel Perez; two great-grandchildren, Raynaldo Perez III and Matthew Perez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Wednesday, May 9, 2007 with a Rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of San Diego. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church with burial following at the San Diego Cemetery No. 2.
