ALICE, Texas - Fenly Davis Sr., 84, passed away October 29, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born December 18, 1922 in Cuero, Texas, to Rosenfield and Fadalia Howard Davis. He was retired from Schlumberger. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Bertha Mae Davis; and one grandson, Fenly Davis III.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Gertie Davis of Alice, two daughters, Adalia Davis and Mary Lee Davis, both of Alice; five sons, William James (Janie) Davis of Kingsville, Fenly (Teresa) Davis Jr., Fairies Lee Davis, Ralph (Mary Ann) Davis and Jerry Lee Davis all of Alice; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. that evening at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Collins Cemetery.

HEBBRONVILLE, Texas - Eliza G. Ramos, 91, passed away in a Laredo hospital on October 28, 2007.

She was a member of the Guadalupanas and the Catholic Daughters of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Hebbronville. She was the owner of Las Palmas Grocery store of Hebbronville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Baltazar Ramos Sr.; and one son, Baltazar Ramos Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Lauro A. (Sylvia) Ramos and Jose Luis (Marianela) Ramos, both of Hebbronville, Texas; one daughter, San Juanita (Homer) Yzaguirre of San Antonio, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Alaniz Funeral Home in Hebbronville, Texas.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. that afternoon at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Hebbronville. Burial of cremains will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery, Hebbronville, Texas.
