ALICE, Texas - We were saddened by the death of our much loved, David Allen Risinger, 79, who died on February 13, 2007 in Alice, Texas. Allen was born in Banquete, Texas, on October 26, 1927. He was a graduate of Banquete High School in 1945. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. Allen graduated from Texas A and M University in 1952. He taught school in San Diego, Texas, from 1952 to 1954. After that, he farmed in the Alice area for many years. He was a State Farm agent for 39 years, retiring in 2002. Allen was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Baker Risinger; his mother, Agnes Bode Risinger McCormick; his stepfather, Odeneal McCormick; and a brother, Albert Dan Risinger.
Survivors include his daughter, Martha Jeanne Risinger of Killeen, Texas; two brothers, Benjamin Baker Risinger Jr. and wife, Lila Mae, of Tampa, Fla., and Neal Bode McCormick and wife, Jeanne, of Georgetown, Texas; three sisters, Mary Nell Risinger Reed of Waco, Texas; Laneal McCormick Brittain and husband, Billy, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Cleo McCormick Newburn and husband, Guy Melvin Newburn Jr., of Bullard, Texas; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
Services will be held in Alice at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. Services will be conducted by Bro. Charles Childers. Burial will follow in Banquete Cemetery where Allen will be laid to rest next to his father. Nephews and cousins will serve as pallbearers.

ALICE, Texas - Ruben Soliz, 43, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 in a local hospital following a sudden illness. He was born to Homero and Demetria Soliz on October 21, 1963 in Alice, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homero and Demetria Soliz; a brother, Adan Soliz, a sister, Maria Alicia Rosales; and a stepson, Richard Mendoza.
Survivors include his wife, Nena Soliz of Alice, Texas; stepdaughter, Isabele (Noel) Vela of Alice; two brothers, Homero (Suki) Soliz Jr of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Javier (Belinda) Soliz of Alice; two sisters, Eva (Martin) Hernandez and Gracie (Teo) Martinez, both of Alice; three grandchildren, friends and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin Friday, February 16, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited that evening at 7 p.m.
Mass will be Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice, Texas. Burial will follow in the New Collins Cemetery.
