Rene Anaya, 55, of Alice, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 after a long struggle with cancer. Rene was born in Alice, Texas, on October 12, 1952 to Manuel and Maria Anaya.
Preceding Rene in death are his mother, Maria Anaya; one daughter, Melba A. Olivares; and one brother, Juan Manuel Anaya.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Medina Anaya; his father, Manuel Anaya; two daughters, Melissa A. Anaya (Mac Perez Jr.) and Yvonne Tello (Eric Luera); one son, Robert "Bobby" Lugo (Kristy Mata); one sister, Gloria (Mario) Longoria; and two brothers, Pedro (Dolores) Anaya, all of Alice, Texas, and Domingo (Delfie) Anaya of Laredo, Texas, and four grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Chapel A at the Ruben M. Garcia and Sons Funeral Services with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery.

Samuel Bueno, 48, passed away November 9, 2007.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elias (Eva) Bueno of Alice; brother, Elias (Diana) Bueno of San Diego, Texas; sisters, Ana Bell Bueno of Ben Bolt and Debra Ann Bueno of Alice; six grandnewphews and nieces.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Roberson Funeral Home in Alice. Funeral will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. gravesite service at Roberson & Collins Cemetery in Alice.

San Diego - Urbano T. Gonzalez, 63, passed away November 12, 2007 in an Austin Hospice facility. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fabian and Maria Tanguma Gonzalez. He was a retired yard worker.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Morris from Sandia, Texas; two daughters, Belinda (Rudy) Guajardo from Freer, Texas, and Rosalinda Anaya from Alice, Texas; three brothers, Fabian (Viola) Gonzalez Jr. and Leandro (Rosa) Gonzalez, both from San Diego, and George Gonzalez from Galveston, Texas; one sister, Gloria Perez from Dickinson, Texas, and several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home of San Diego with a Rosary recited that same evening at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2007 at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church and burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.

Jesus C. Lopez, 82, passed away on November 13, 2007 in Alice, Texas. He was born in Alice, Texas, to Leonides and Manuela Lopez on April 22, 1925.
Jesus served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on board the USS Colorado (BB 45) receiving seven battle stars for Occupation Japan. He was a life member of Alice Memorial VFW Post 8621. He was a retired house painter for more than 60 years.
He was well known for his smile, humor and personality. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He goes home to the Lord to reunite with his loving wife, Julia M. Lopez; his parents, Leonides and Manuela Lopez; three brothers, Leonides (Niles), Armando (Mando) Lopez and Aparicio "Pat" Lopez; two sisters, Lydia Vasquez and Irma Salinas.
He leaves to cherish his memories to a daughter, Thelma (Butch) Guerrero of Alice, Texas, and son MCPO Jesus (Diana) Lopez Jr., U.S. Navy (ret) of San Antonio, Texas; his grandchildren, Vanessa Guerrero, Veronica (Patrick Cantu), Jesse III and Victoria Lopez and a great-grandchild Alexis R. Cantu; two brothers, Joe (Lupita) Lopez and Luis (Hilda) Lopez, all of Alice, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral Mass will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2007 with burial at San Diego Cemetery.

ORANGE GROVE - Jean M. Starke, 81, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2007.
She was born March 5, 1926 in Center Point, Iowa. She was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Otto Starke.
Survivors include one son, Roger Starke of Orange Grove; three sisters, Helen Brown of Urbana, Iowa, Marge Bietz of Marion, Iowa, and Lois Hawkins of North Little Rock, Ark.; and two brothers, Dick Matheny and Bob Matheny of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel in Mathis. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2007 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Cemetery in Orange Grove.
