ALICE, Texas – Esmerejildo Espinoza, 75, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, in a Corpus Christi hospital following a long illness. He was born to Esmerejildo  and Alberta (DeLaRosa) Espinoza on May 22, 1935 in Alice, Texas.  He was a retired backhoe operator with AT&T. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Luera; step-father, Pedro Luera; brother, Federico Luera Sr.; and sister, Josefina Medina.

Survivors include two daughters, Rachel (Arturo) Rodriguez of Alice, Texas, and Delia (Rafael) Marquez of Bryan, Texas; six brothers: Eugenio Luera, Mando (Margie) Luera, Gregorio (Janie) Luera, Robert (Janie) Luera, Ruben (Diane) Luera of Alice, Texas, and Israel (Connie) Luera of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel.
