KINGSVILLE, Texas – Adela San Miguel Reyna passed away April 21, 2011 after a prolonged illness. Adela was to be the first of six children born to Francisco Pompa San Miguel and Olivia Recio San Miguel. She was born on August 26, 1928, in Las Pedrietas Ranch in Premont, Texas. She was married to Francisco T. Reyna and together made a home in Newgulf, Texas. A Catholic by faith, prior to her illness she was an active member of the various Catholic churches of which she was a parishioner. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, cooking, and the numerous memories of work as a nurse, as a sibling of six, as a mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Francisco Reyna, Sr. and youngest son, Francisco Reyna Jr.
Survivors include one son, Frank Rene (Barbara) Jimenez; daughters, Guadalupe Enedelia Jimenez of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mary Lucille (Joe) Rodebaugh of Kingsville; two sisters, Maria Adelfina San Miguel and Adelaida (Dimetrio) Ortegon; a brother, Gilbert (Susie) San Miguel; two granddaughters, eight grandsons, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2011, at the Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011, at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Interment followed at the Chamberlain Cemetery.
