ALICE, Texas – Antonio Felipe Contreras, 84, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 in an Alice nursing home after an illness. Born in Detroit, Mich., he was a resident of Alice, Texas, and a retired baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe Contreras and Juana Maldonado Contreras; and his wife, Sara Aguilar De Contreras.
Survivors include his children, Ruben (Margarita) Contreras, Herberto (Rosa) Contreras, Jesus (Raquel) Contreras, Sanjuana (Homero) Ibarra and Rosa (Max) Bonilla all of Alice, Texas, Javier (Guadalupe) Contreras, Antonio (Gloria) Contreras and Alberto (Anna) Contreras all of Laredo, Texas, and Maria Graciela (Lorenzo) Martinez of Houston, Texas; 28 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at Walker-Mora Funeral Home in Alice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice with burial to follow at Alice Fraternal Cemetery in Alice.
