SAN DIEGO, Texas – Alicia G. Labbe, a lifelong resident of San Diego, Texas, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was a faithful member of St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas, the American Cancer Society. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ernest N. Labbe; and two brothers and two sisters.
Alicia is survived by a son, Ernest N. Napo (Katie) Labbe of Freer, Texas; two daughters, Norma Alice Labbe (Jim) Lane of Garland, Texas; Edna T. Labbe of San Diego, Texas; six grandchildren, David A. (Jolynn) Salinas, Daniel N. Salinas, Eliseo Labbe-Lane, Michael Labbe-Lane, Erica (Roman) Escobar, Jessica Labbe; one great-grandchild, Mason Alexander Escobar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Interment will follow at San Diego Cemetery in San Diego, Texas.
