RIOS - Fernando V. "Vito" Carrillo, 71, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 1, 2017 in a Laredo, Texas hospital after a long illness. He was born in Benavides, Texas on January 3, 1945 to his parents, Domingo and Veronica Vera Carrillo. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Serving in the 9th Infantry Division, He retired from B.D. HOLT Co. after 36 years of employment. He enjoyed playing maquinitas, traveling, watching the Dallas Cowboys and watching his nephews play sports and spending time with his family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Domingo Carrillo Jr. and Benito Carrillo.

Vito is survived by his wife of 52 years of marriage, Adelaida H. Carrillo of Rios, Texas one brother, Arnoldo V. Carrillo of Corpus Christi, Texas; two aunts, Aria Carrillo and Luby C. Carrillo both of Benavides, Texas; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Vigil of the Deceased with a Rosary at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas. Military Graveside Service and Interment will held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
