Elda H. Balboa, 79, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 14, 2016 with her family by her side, after a short battle with Lymphoma. She was born December 24, 1936 in San Diego, Texas to Juliana Ramos and Lino Hinojosa. Elda was an only child. Elda was a homemaker her entire life. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Everyone who knew her, loved her.
Elda was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ismael A. Balboa; her parents; her brothers-in-law, Pedro Balboa, Adan Balboa, Ramiro Balboa and Antonio Balboa, Jr., and sister-in-law, Orfalinda B. Vela.
Elda is survived by her children, Juan Lino "Johnny" (Virgie) Balboa of San Antonio, Texas, Julie (Joe) Garza of Alice, Texas, Rosie (Mario) Elizondo of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, Anna (Danny) Gonzalez of Alice, Texas and Diana (Saul) Martinez of Green Acres, Texas; four brothers-in-law, Abel Balboa, Juan Balboa, Joe (Rosie) Balboa and Guadalupe Balboa all of Alice, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Eva Cadena of Agua Dulce, Texas and Evigael (Jesse) Perez of Robstown, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, I.A. (Vanessa) Balboa, Audrey (Jose) Quiroz, Gabriel (Melinda) Garza, Danny (Linda) Garza, Michael Garza, Dominique Elizondo, Mario A. Elizondo, Sara Elizondo, Chris Elizondo, Christopher (Celina Godines) Gonzalez, Lianna Gonzalez, Marcos Gonzalez, Saul Martinez and Olivia Martinez; sixteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Active Pallbearers will be Ray Balboa, Luis Lopez, Adrian Lopez, Manuel Ramon, Raul Ramon and Juan Vela.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in Alice with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May, 18, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
