Roel Garza, 56, was called home on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at a Corpus Christi hospital after a sudden illness. He was born in San Diego, Texas on January 20, 1960 to his parents, Ruben and Raquel Garza.

Roel is survived by his wife of 12 years of marriage, Imelda G. Garza of Rios, Texas; one daughter, Analee (Joel) Govea of Kingsville; his parents, Ruben and Raquel Garza of Freer, Texas; 4 grandchildren; one brother, Ruben (Eden) Garza of Laredo, Texas; four sisters, Linda (Ignacio) Villarreal, Angie (Richard) Alaniz, Ana (Oscar) Garza all of Freer, Texas; and Sally (Bryan) Shroeder of Orange Grove, Texas; two raised as children, Clarese (Ramiro) Garcia and Jacqline (Albert); three step children, Angela M. G. Radke of Dallas, Texas; Jaime (Mari) Lopez of San Antonio, Texas and Mario (Beverly) Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Premont, Texas. Military Honors and Interment will follow at the San Diego Cemetery#2 in San Diego, Texas.
