Alvaro P. "Al" Salinas Jr., 49, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February, 20, 2016, due to an automobile accident. He was born in Alice, Texas on February 16, 1967 to his parents, Alvaro and Olivia Salinas. He was a member of the Bountiful Blessings Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was owner and operator of Al's Truck and Auto Shop and South Texas Lease and Construction Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Tomas Salinas.

Alvaro is survived by his wife of 27 years of marriage, Rachal H. Salinas of Freer, Texas; five daughters, Tricia Ann (Izak) Gallegos of San Antonio, Texas; Stacy Nicole Salinas (James Adami), Tiffany R. Salinas (Eric Martinez ), Brianna D. Salinas and Kadee R. Salinas all of Freer, Texas; his parents, Alvaro and Olivia Salinas of Freer, Texas; four grandchildren, Zachary Gallegos, Eli and Brian Adami, Braelynn Martinez; one sister, Donna (Rowan) Dunnaway of Lawton, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Garza Funeral Home in Freer, Texas with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Freer, Texas. Interment will follow at the Hahl Memorial Cemetery in Freer, Texas.
