Rodolfo Lopez, 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in a Alice nursing home after a short illness. He was born in San Jose Community on August 3, 1928 to Amadeo and Teresa Lopez. He worked for several highway construction contractors and assisted in the building of the Harbor Bridge, and was a life time rancher. He enjoyed hunting, ranching and socializing with his friends and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years of marriage, Elva G. Lopez; his parents; two brothers, Ramiro and Reynaldo Lopez; and a sister, Delia L. Garcia.

Rodolfo is survived by his daughter, Graciela L. (Russel) Gruber of Alice, Texas; one granddaughter, Ariana Elise Munoz of Kingsville, one sister, Alicia L. Canales of Alice, Texas; one brother-in-law, Rene V. (Elma) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sister-in-law, Blanca G. Salazar of Spring Branch, Texas; Audelia V. Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016 at San Jose Catholic Church in San Jose Community, Texas. Interment will follow at the Lopez Cemetery in San Jose Community, Texas.
