Rebecca “Becky” Rojas Canales, 70, passed away January 14, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born October 19, 1945 in Alice, Texas to Rodrigo Rojas and Antonia Rodriguez Rojas. Becky was a true housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and was famous for her delicious pan de campo, but Becky was especially known to many for her devotion to her family and for her wonderful spirit. She was funny and loved life to the fullest. She had an impact on everyone she met including the people whom cared for her at the hospital. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodrigo Rojas and Antonia Rodriguez Rojas; one sister, Locaria “Nena” Curiel; and one brother, Rodrigo “Kito” Rojas.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Reynaldo Canales of Alice, Texas; two daughters, Laura Canales (Omar) Chapa of Corpus Christi, Texas and Liza Canales (Jaime Gonzalez) of Alice, Texas; five grandchildren, Omar G. Chapa III, Orlando Reynaldo Chapa, Zeyla Rebecca Gonzalez, Guy Rocco Gonzalez, and Liam Gavin Gonzalez; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family will begin receiving friends at 9 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial graveside service will follow at Las Latas Cemetery.
