The Texas Department of Transportation will hold a town hall meeting Wednesday in Robstown regarding the Trans-Texas Corridor/Interstate 69 project.

"We want to hear the public's ideas and we want to answer their questions," said Texas Transportation Commissioner Ted Houghton. "Their comments will help shape the final decisions."

The Robstown meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds Conference Center at 1213 Terry Shamsie Blvd. It will be one of 11 town hall meetings throughout the I-69/Trans-Texas Corridor study area.

During the town hall meetings, the public will have an opportunity to ask a panel of TxDOT staff, including top-level administration officials, questions about the Trans-Texas Corridor, comprehensive development agreements, I-69 and other related transportation issues.

In addition to the town hall meetings, TxDOT will also hold 46 public hearings, specifically focused on the I-69/TTC Draft Environmental Impact Statement. The format of the public hearings is designed solely to gather public comments on the statement.
