Sizzling steaks cooked over mesquite, fresh seafood, Mexican and pasta dishes are just a glimpse of the many items on the El Capitale Restaurant's menu. The restaurant is expected to open sometime next week.
"We specialize in steaks that are going to be cooked over mesquite wood with our special sauce," said Maria Chryssos, who is co-owner with her husband, Mike Chryssos. "Our steaks are going to be aged, hand-cut and cooked to each of our customer's perfection."
El Capitale Restaurant located at 711 E. Main, is currently hiring and will be open next week. The Chryssos bring with them the experience of already owning the Astor Restaurant in Corpus Christi, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary and has been serving locals since 1957.
"We are hard workers and we will continue the hard work," Chryssos said. "We want to please our customers with quality food."
El Capitale will have lunch specials daily and special rates for children and senior citizens. They will be open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with full bar. Happy Hour is Monday through Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. The bar features jumbo margaritas with a variety of quality wines, Chryssos said.
"We would love nothing better then to help them select the perfect bottle of wine with their meals," she said.
"We ensure all of our guests that we will have the best of the best."
The restaurant will cater to banquets, weddings, showers and other special events. During the holidays, they will provide cooked turkeys with all the trimmings and party trays.
El Capitale will feature homemade salad dressings and homemade bread daily made with a special family recipe along with unique pasta delicacies.
"We want Alice to have a unique place to go to because we know their selection (of restaurants) is limited and we are trying to make a restaurant that is classy," Chryssos said. "Everyone is welcomed."
