The Latino Education Project will be at the Freer Civic Center/Senior Center on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Screenings will be provided for the following - glucose, blood presssure and weight.
In addition LEP will screen for the "Low Income Subsidy" program through the My Medicare Matters project.
If a person 65 years of age or older or a person younger than 65 with a disabiltiy who has Medicare Part A and/or Medicare Part B could be eligible for assistance through the low income subsidy which can pay up to $93.50 toward your monthly premium that is deducted from a persons social security or disability check.
Furthermore an eligible individual can have up to 85 to 100 percent of their co-pays for prescriptions and doctors visits as well as annual deductibles covered.
