Coastal Bend College Cougar Camp recruitment is underway for Summer 2008.

Cougar Camp gives future CBC students the opportunity to spend three days on the Beeville campus of Coastal Bend College and participate in a variety of workshops, activities and events that will help them feel connected to CBC before fall classes begin.

Students can choose between two sessions: July 8-10 and Aug. 12-14. There is no charge to students for attending Cougar Camp. Meals, dorms, transportation and activities are free during the camp session.

Cougar Camp is open to students graduating from high schools in Bee, Live Oak, Karnes, Refugio, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Duval and Atascosa Counties and planning to attend Coastal Bend College in the fall.

Students will have the opportunity to work with counselors to identify personal skills needed for success in higher education. They will also attend a new student orientation to familiarize them with college life and CBC.

Students who plan to attend Cougar Camp should apply by March 30 to secure a spot, but applications will be accepted as long as space is available.

Applications can be downloaded at or through the high school counseling office.

Cougar Camp criteria are as follows:

Student will attend CBC (any campus) during the Fall 2008 semester.

Student must attend one of the 30 service area high schools.

Student must have less than 15 college credit hours.
